What platforms does mynd support?

iOS and iPadOS 17+, macOS 13+. An Android version is in development.

How do I add a line break?

Turn on “Return key inserts a line break” under Settings → Actions.

Why are my messages on the right?

New entries appear on the right side of the screen. After a while they move to the left and become history. You can freely swipe to change which side your past messages sit on.

How is mynd different from other note-taking apps?

Feature comparisons don't really tell the whole story. The essential difference between mynd and many excellent products on the market is that many of them are actually services, with terms of service that few users have the patience to read through. mynd is a tool you can download for free.

This difference determines a lot — services may shut down, but tools can last.

What if mynd gets removed from the App Store?

As the first user and developer, I'll do my best to maintain and update this product. But mynd's entire concept is designed around the principle that even if the app is removed, it won't affect your ability to keep using your notes.

The core of this principle is "files over apps" — thanks to Obsidian's CEO kepano for championing this idea.

What does "files over apps" mean?

The notes you write in the chat interface are actually markdown files named by date — an elegant and efficient modern document format.

You can freely access your files without cumbersome export steps. Whether you want to back them up, switch to another service, or hand them to AI for analysis and summarization, it's all easy.

Why is there no built-in AI feature?

When it comes to AI, mynd's approach is to keep a distance while looking toward the future.

There's no AI-assisted "writing" or summarization here. In an era where generated content is becoming cheap and abundant, I'd rather mynd help users preserve their own authentic words.

Once you've kept that record, markdown files are naturally suited for users who want to use large language models for analysis and summarization.

Is there a user guide?

The app's features and interface are straightforward, and your data is safe — feel free to explore on your own. If you find a bug, please let me know.

Once I've addressed the feedback from launch week, I'll update the guide and gradually share advanced tips and creative uses from other users. Follow mynd's social media accounts or subscribe to the newsletter on the website.

I'm truly sorry for the rough experience. I'm a vlogger driven by passion — I studied archaeology in college and have no technical background. Every line of mynd's code was generated by AI.

This is my first vibe coding project. The concept comes from a personal recording system I've used for over three years. It took two months from creating the folder to launching the first version. Four days after launch, over 10,000 new users worldwide had tried using mynd to journal their lives.
